To apply as an International Member, we would appreciate your updated contact information and additional documentation to inform your change in membership status. Once reviewed and approved, your membership will be voted on at the AAPOS Business Meeting during our next Annual Meeting. Until then, you will retain all your International Fellow-in-training member benefits and qualify for early registration discounts to the AAPOS Annual Meeting as an International Member Applicant.
Criteria to qualify for International Membership include:
You must be a physician licensed to practice medicine and surgery, and is not currently practicing in the USA or Canada, and meet all the criteria in one of the following paths:
International Path A

- Completed a fellowship training program or preceptorship in pediatric ophthalmology and/or strabismus lasting 6 months or longer; and...
- Completed at least two years in practice consisting of at least 50% pediatric ophthalmology and/or strabismus.
International Path B

- Have not participated in a fellowship training program, but have completed at least 5 years in practice consisting of at least 50% pediatric ophthalmology and/or strabismus.
**Important - if you have moved and are now residing and practicing in the USA or Canada, you will need to apply for Full Membership.
