PEDIATRIC OPHTHALMOLOGIST

NORTON CHILDREN’S EYE CARE, AFFILIATED WITH THE UOFL SCHOOL OF MEDICINE, and a part of Norton Children’s Medical Group, is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible pediatric ophthalmologist. The selected candidate will function as part of a dynamic, growing team dedicated to meeting the needs of children through clinical care, medical education, research and advocacy. The current pediatric ophthalmology service covers a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Norton Children’s Hospital as well as NICU coverage at University of Louisville Hospital and other regional hospital facilities. The practice is located in the Novak Center for Children’s Health in downtown Louisville.

The Eye Center at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is seeking a full time Orthoptist to join our academic department. The orthoptist will evaluate strabismic and amblyopic patients at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Brenner Children’s Hospital and nearby satellite offices while in clinic with the Pediatric Ophthalmologists. The orthoptist is expected to contribute to the education of Ophthalmology residents by interaction with them in the care of their strabismic patients. This is a fabulous opportunity to join a growing pediatric ophthalmology service which includes a Chief of Pediatric Ophthalmology, a junior pediatric ophthalmologist, and a  part-time orthoptist.  WFBMC offers a large multi-specialty collegial ophthalmology department that includes specialists in cornea, glaucoma, uveitis, retina, neuro-ophthalmology and oculoplastics who provide support for the care of complex pediatric patients and adult strabismus patients.

The candidate must have completed an accredited orthoptic training program. Candidates must be Board Certified by the American Orthoptic Council, and pass a criminal background check.
